It's been a long day!
(Monday, May 12, 2008)
Well I know I am completely buggered from such a long day!... I think Monday's are really getting to me now!
Just wanted to give a slight update on the developments from todays class and where this now leads the project.
Leading up to today's class there really no information researched into what me.so.bored really is? How did positive boredom get the name me.so.bored? and more importantly why? Thanks to tim, we were guided down a path that we would never of even thought of, primarily because we didn't want to stick with the name. After doing some research into eastern culture history we thought we were leading down a path with too many webs, we were just going to get lost in the backstory... which we didn't want! The concept team have all this information on their blog.
So we started delving down into the meening of me and so... are they just 'notes' on the musical scale? or do these too words have a pass, either as 2 seperate words, or one? Is there ever a word such as meso?
Well... enter 'mesobored' now one word without the break points, mesobored has a meaning, a reason why it was created. Let me explain in what we believe mesobored is:
Mesobored is the intermediate or middle state of mind where nothingness prevails. Its on a direct tangent on the world that we see, but exists differnntly to everyone. Mesobord is the state of mind between the real, and imagerny where positite and creative aspirations take over and guide life forward. The greeks bought upon this term in 9-6th Century BC from the feeling of anixioty that existed when an individual took it apon themselves to think creativly duing states of down time.
Now.. clearly this has got to be written up in context and structed correctly, but I think we are onto something. By using elements of pre exisiting ideas, we can meaning and form to what we are trying to create. We have to remember what we are trying to do here.. create an entire state of mind of which people live their lives based around, It isn't an easy task. Foe this to be credible, we need a true story to go along with it!
I am loving some of the ideas that are coming out of todays class.. and I think we need to stick to these. Mesobored needs to be seen in the public eye as a pre exisiting outlook on life! By creating crdible sources and placing them all around the inernet to be links to a a basic database GIVE crediblity to what we are trying to produce! The video team is also onto a winner by allow each of you guys to create difference video art peices, in different style all with the same message, which lead to the same outlook on life. The print team may also need to think down the same path
Bored is...? is the modern day take on this old greek mathology known as mesobored. As it stands right now, Bored Is... is the campaign as such to show and gather people that are living and exisiting within out community with the same ideals that mesobored brings.. even if they dont know it yet!
I am still really set on getting credible articles written up to be placed all around the net for people of spirtual and religious forums to visit, even through the creation of art we may be able to pull in a whole demographic into our train of thought! Madison Woods still plays a great role in brining the cyper culture along for the ride, and I think the print team can draw in the business types into looking at OUR outlook on life.
From now, we are all living the mesobored way of life.. and its our aim from today to get others to share the same outlook. Through our different mediums, i am sure we are going to make a subtle yet effective impact not just on the small community of Melbourne, but around the world!
Look out for further information tomorrow. The concept team will be nutting out all these ideas over the next 72 hours to present on Thursday a full credible story and implimentation outline.
Cheers,
