Bored! is becoming a reality.
(Thursday, May 8, 2008)
After today's very long brainstorming and revision session, we have been able to come up with the frameworks of what Bored! is all about.
As a side note, we have changed the name from Me.So.Bored to Bored! This was for many reason including how to effectively target our market better. We also wanted something which reflect the style and emotion of the project.
I know some of you are trying to still get your heads around the idea of turning an everyday emotion into a subculture, and what this culture is called... for now, we are calling is boredism. Boredism is the frameworks of the culture in which the concept team have been working on. From there, we move into the attidutes of how to get this culture into the wider society. This is where Bored! comes into play. Bored! is a group of people which are activlty engaging the community to bring about there ideals and attitudes. Its a group of people that want to change the underlyuing attitudes of boredom, and create a culture of creativity and inpired individuals. But how does Bored! get their word on the street? Well its a 2 prong attack!
The first attack is still been finilised, but very soon you are going to meet Madison Woods.
The second is the viral marketing campaign named "Bored Is...?"
Bored Is...? is the underlying attitude of the Bored! group. Boredom is such an individual emotion to have. To some, it inspires acts of unpredictability. For others it is a self driven emotion which leads to a proactive approach in life. Bored Is...? is about the taking an individual emotion and making it a communal experience. Through print, web and motion graphics, we aim to bring Bored Is...? to life in as little as 3 weeks time!
The whole project comes down to the following few sentences:
"Boredom takes life on a tangent which leads to unpredictability. Our lifestyle is to seek proactive stimulation...to find new situations and new experiences to be engaged. It is important to understand that the source of boredom is within your own mind, the consequences of not understanding this may lead to an individual not releasing their full creative, social and proactive potential."We are about to endeavor on a project which could change the attitudes of many in society today. What we create, through our designs and thought process will have an impact on the wider community both now and into the future.
More will be coming soon.. so stay tuned!
